DAY 9 HIGHLIGHTS - MEDALS and MEAT TRAYS

SILVER MEDAL WON AT SOFTBALL
SEVERAL MEAT TRAYS WON AT PENNO BOWLING CLUB CELEBRATIONS

THE VENUE

We were a little worried when we were greeted by blue and white police tape at The Donnie and Marie Osmond Softball Complex... but alas, it was a lovely venue that also included a full sized train set..toot toot

THE CROWD

1,547 loyal Thornleigh supporters from the young to the mature were on hand to support the Sydney Spirit....by far the largest crowd ever at this wonderful stadium.

The wings were forgotten once the action began....

Tears of joy during Game 1

Magic was an inspiration

Michelle chalked up a consequtive 5 home run hitting streak until the opposition piked out and deliberately walked her.......

.....the huge crowd erupted into voice and then karma came into play as several runs were subsequently scored that innings after the QLD girls tactical blunder.

Kiwi was then gagged after providing some positive encouragement to the QLD pitcher.....

The game ball resting between innings

No wonder the other team won the GOLD - they had a coach for absolutely "everything"!!

INJURIES

THE SPOILS OF VICTORY

SILVER, SILVER, SILVER
(or white gold to those who can't wear silver)

The huge Thornleigh crowd poured into BOP to witness history and support our champions

You go girls.....

CONGRATULATIONS

Super Softball Saturday

After playing on the top class BOP diamond yesterday (and having 2 losses), the girls were happy to return to what they are used to - old paddocks, uneven, dangerous and unkempt - and guess what - two wins. The Jaguars were upset 16-15 in a nail biter and then the mighty Spirit sent those Redcliff Rockets rocketing back to QLD home with another close one 12-8 in the late game. Bloody fantastic...Masters medals are on the cards..

Some niggling injuries were evident

The banners were proudly displayed...

This was before the game started...the girls were pumped

The action begins....

Michelle on her way for her 3rd home run of the game...

Post game celebrations...bring on Medal Sunday
